Specialization and Approach

I support clients who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, or disconnected in their relationships. Whether you’re navigating conflict with a partner or family member, managing stress or anxiety, or working through trauma, I’m here to provide a supportive space and help you move forward toward a more fulfilling life.

I see therapy as a safe and collaborative space to explore the many relationships that shape our lives—not only with people like family, partners, and friends, but also with things like food, money, and alcohol. I also believe it’s essential to consider the broader social, economic, and cultural influences that affect each person’s well-being. Above all, I view clients as the experts in their own lives, and I work alongside them to foster meaningful change.

Many individuals seek support for concerns related to relationships, career dissatisfaction, self-esteem, ADHD, burnout, and the impact of perfectionism on their lives. A helpful goal in these situations is reducing the fear of failure, as well as exploring how these challenges may be connected to feelings of anxiety and depression. In couples therapy, areas of exploration often include communication styles, emotional intimacy and connection, strengthening the emotional bond, and developing coping strategies to manage stress. To build rapport with clients, I ask about the changes they hope to make, their inner experiences, their strengths, and the people in their support networks.

Training and Experience

Erika’s area of expertise is systems therapy, which involves understanding the complex dynamics of relationships and the influences of family background, personal history, and current interactions. The therapist takes into account not only the client’s family of origin and the patterns formed within it but also the therapist’s own self-awareness and the way their personal experiences shape the therapeutic relationship. Through thoughtful dialogue, the therapist works to foster deeper emotional connections, strengthen intimacy, and promote healthier relationship patterns, helping clients navigate the intricate web of their personal and relational lives.

Erika started her mental health career in 2022 when she received her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Cal State University in California. After moving to Denver, Colorado she completed her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University in 2024. Erika attended two residencies in Minneapolis and completed her internship hours in Denver.
